PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. (KCTV) – A motorcycle collision with a truck claimed the life of a 35-year-old man Wednesday morning on NW Mattox Road.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene near NW 43rd Street shortly after 8:00 a.m. According to the Platte County Sheriff’s Office, the motorcyclist, identified as Michael Wolcott, attempted to illegally pass the truck while it was making a turn.
The truck struck Wolcott’s Kawasaki motorcycle, leading him to lose control and crash into a utility pole. He sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Authorities confirmed the incident is still under investigation, with deputies working to reconstruct the accident.
