Belton Motorcyclist Killed in Salado-Area Crash
Bell County, TX (March 21, 2026) — A 68-year-old Belton resident, John Josef Allen, died Thursday afternoon in a motorcycle collision on FM 2484 near Salado.
At approximately 4:16 p.m., Allen was riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound when a 25-year-old Killeen man, driving a 2023 Toyota Camry, attempted to turn south onto Ridgewood Drive. Allen’s attempt to pass a vehicle on the left resulted in a collision with the Camry.
Emergency responders pronounced Allen dead at the scene. The Camry driver sustained injuries and was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center for evaluation.
FM 2484 was temporarily closed while emergency services managed the situation. Authorities are investigating the incident.
