Teen Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Newton County
NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. — A 19-year-old male motorcyclist was killed in a crash near the intersection of Kodiak Road and Elder Road at approximately 2 p.m. on June 28, 2026, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Authorities reported that the westbound 2009 CBR1000RR motorcycle crossed the center line and collided with the left rear of a 2010 Ram pickup traveling east. The motorcyclist was transported to Mercy Joplin, where he was pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m. The pickup’s driver, a 63-year-old male from Diamond, Mo., was unharmed.
Emergency responders from the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, Redings Mill Fire Department, and Newton County Ambulance were dispatched to the scene. Riedigers Towing removed the motorcycle and debris, while the pickup was able to drive away despite damage to its left rear taillight.
This incident marks Troop D’s 61st fatal crash of 2026. The investigation is ongoing.
