A Kansas City man died following a motorcycle crash on an Interstate 470 ramp near Pryor Road in Lee’s Summit on Wednesday night.
Authorities responded to reports of a two-vehicle incident at approximately 6 p.m., according to the Lee’s Summit Police Department. Initial investigations reveal that the motorcyclist, traveling east on the ramp, collided with the rear of a truck.
The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as 34-year-old Edward M. Strickland.
The truck’s driver was evaluated by emergency medical personnel at the scene but declined hospitalization.
The incident remains under investigation by local authorities, and lane closures were in effect during the response.
