Kansas City Motorcyclist Killed in I-70 Crash with Semitruck
WARREN COUNTY, Mo. — A Kansas City man died in a motorcycle crash involving a semitruck on Interstate 70 Wednesday morning.
The incident took place around 9:45 a.m. in the eastbound lanes at the 194.8-mile marker, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Authorities reported that a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia was stopped in traffic when a 2016 Harley-Davidson Night Rod Special collided with its left rear.
The rider, a 45-year-old man, was wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Warren County Coroner at 9:49 a.m. The Freightliner sustained minor damage and was driven away, while the Harley-Davidson was deemed a total loss and towed by Prime Towing.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol received assistance from the Warren County Coroner and additional troopers at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
