Kansas Motorcyclist Dies in Collision Involving Amazon Van and Pickup Truck.

SEDGWICK COUNTY—A three-vehicle collision resulted in one fatality just before 5:30 p.m. Saturday on 135th Street West at 63rd Street South.

According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, the crash involved an Amazon delivery van, a Dodge Ram pickup, and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. All vehicles were traveling southbound between K-42 Highway and Clearwater.

Authorities said the driver of the Amazon van initiated a U-turn at 63rd Street South, causing the accident when it crossed in front of the other vehicles.

First responders found the motorcycle’s driver, 63-year-old Dwayne Wesley Evers of Clearwater, and a 58-year-old female passenger from Clearwater with critical injuries. Evers was pronounced dead at the scene, while his passenger was transported to a Wichita hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 70-year-old Clearwater man, also received treatment at a Wichita hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The Amazon van’s driver, a 25-year-old Wichita man, was uninjured.

Investigators do not suspect speed or impairment as factors in the crash, and the Sheriff’s Office will submit the case to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for further review following the reconstruction.
