Kansas Motorcyclist Killed in Highway 43 Crash with Slowing Truck.

A 29-year-old man from Pittsburg, Kansas, died after a motorcycle crash on Highway 43, five miles north of Airport Drive, on July 10.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the incident occurred at 5:20 p.m., when a northbound 2013 Kawasaki 650 motorcycle rear-ended a slowing 2014 Toyota Tundra in the same direction.

Emergency Medical Services transported the motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, to Mercy Hospital in Joplin, where he was pronounced dead at 11:06 p.m. by Dr. Olivi.

The 77-year-old female driver of the Toyota, from Webb City, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Freeman West Hospital.

The motorcycle was totaled and towed by H&H Wrecker, while the Toyota, which suffered moderate damage, was driven from the scene.

This incident marks the 64th fatality reported by Troop D in 2025.
