Kenmore Man, 21, Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 Near Everett Mall Way.

KENMORE — A 21-year-old Kenmore man died Tuesday in a motorcycle accident on southbound Interstate 5 near Everett Mall Way, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).

Blake W. Frenick was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash, which occurred at approximately 5:10 p.m. near milepost 189. He was wearing a compliant helmet at the time.

The preliminary WSP report indicates that Frenick’s motorcycle struck several vehicles traveling southbound in lane three before colliding with a sixth vehicle in the HOV lane. The motorcycle and the sixth vehicle came to rest on the left shoulder of the interstate. Three other vehicles stopped in the HOV lane, while one remained in lane three.

The crash involved Frenick’s 2016 Honda CBR500, which was totaled, and five other vehicles: a 2005 Toyota Corolla, a 2023 Tesla Model Y, a 2013 Chrysler 300, a 2023 Mazda CX-50, and a 2017 Cadillac Escalade.

The drivers of the other vehicles included Eugenia Y. Ramosdiaz, 32, of Everett; Mandeep Kaur, 44, of Bothell; Dylan E. Young, 26, of Everett; Lincoln T. Young, 25, of Bothell; and Trevan J. Bonnifield, 33, of Camano Island. Taylor M. Bonnifield, 33, was a passenger in the Cadillac. All occupants were wearing seat belts, and no injuries were reported among them.

The cause of the crash was attributed to speed, with the involvement of drugs or alcohol still under investigation. Authorities have not announced any lane closures or further traffic impact related to the incident.
