Keyser Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on McMullen Highway
RAWLINGS — A 27-year-old man from Keyser, West Virginia, died in a motorcycle accident on McMullen Highway Monday morning.
Dacota Craig Powers was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel shortly after the crash, reported to the Allegany Joint Communications Center just before 10 a.m., according to Allegany County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Christopher Hill.
Authorities said the collision involved only Powers’s motorcycle. Emergency responders arrived promptly, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
The roadway remained closed for several hours for investigation and clean-up. Witnesses reported the motorcycle was traveling southbound when the incident occurred.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office. No further details have been released.
