BETHEL TOWNSHIP — A 48-year-old woman died following a motorcycle crash on Scarff Road in Miami County on June 14.
Kristen Duffey-Steward of Xenia sustained critical injuries during the incident, which occurred around 6:20 p.m. on June 13, according to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency responders found Duffey-Steward unresponsive after her motorcycle lost control while traveling northbound. Witnesses reported the motorcycle veering off the roadway twice before the crash.
She was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital, where she was pronounced dead the following day.
Preliminary investigations indicate that speed may have been a factor in the accident. Authorities are continuing to gather information as part of their investigation.
Duffey-Steward’s obituary highlighted her generous spirit, noting she was able to donate organs to several individuals as her final act of kindness.
