Loudoun County Transit Expands Services Starting July 1, 2026

Loudoun County Transit will implement significant service changes beginning July 1, 2026, impacting Transit On Demand in Leesburg and Sterling, along with commuter bus service to Washington, D.C.

A new fare-free Transit On Demand pilot service will launch in Sterling, covering a 14-square-mile area. This service will operate daily from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekends. Riders can schedule trips via the LC Transit On Demand app or by calling 571-258-3464.

In Leesburg, Transit On Demand will extend its hours to include weekends starting July 5, 2026. Four additional pick-up locations will be added, and the service will operate daily from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Moreover, a direct commuter bus route to Washington, D.C., will introduce extra morning and evening trips from the Leesburg Park and Ride lot. Schedule enhancements will also be made to existing routes to reduce travel times.
