Motorcycle Crash in Vermilion Parish Claims Life of 19-Year-Old
A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Highway 92 in Vermilion Parish on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Louisiana State Police.
The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Noah Ducote of Port Barre. Authorities said Ducote was riding a Suzuki motorcycle eastbound when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a truck traveling in the opposite direction.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene around 2:41 p.m. Witnesses reported that Ducote was speeding prior to the crash. A toxicology report will be conducted, though impairment is not suspected as a factor in the incident.
This fatality marks the second motorcycle death in Acadiana within a 24-hour period. On Monday evening, a collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle on Ambassador Caffery resulted in the death of 27-year-old Andrew Bollinger of Lafayette.
