Winnabow, N.C. – A motorcyclist died after colliding with a car on Sunday evening in Winnabow.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 5:05 p.m. on U.S. 17 near the Bell Swamp Connection.
A 19-year-old Leland teen was riding a motorcycle southbound on the highway when he collided with a blue SUV that was driving across the intersection.
The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and landed on the shoulder of U.S. 17.
The rider was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The SUV driver was cited for failure to yield and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
