Man Charged After 18-Month-Old Child Injured in Motorcycle Crash Without Helmet.

BLOUNT COUNTY, Ala. — A Blount County man faces multiple charges after an 18-month-old child suffered injuries while riding on his motorcycle without a helmet on Feb. 14.

According to court documents, Aaron Lee Roberson was operating his motorcycle while under the influence of alcohol. The child was also on the motorcycle and was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

Authorities said Roberson was reportedly speeding and drove recklessly on a paved road, which led to the crash that caused serious head and face injuries to the child.

Court records indicate that after the accident, Roberson left the scene without notifying anyone and failed to call 911 for assistance.

Roberson is charged with second-degree assault, leaving the scene of an accident with injury, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving.

Details regarding the child’s current condition have not been disclosed.
