GREENVILLE, S.C. (Local News Wire) — A motorcycle crash on I-385 northbound resulted in one fatality and one serious injury on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Greenville Police Department, the collision occurred around 2:38 p.m. near mile marker 42, involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.
Authorities confirmed the driver of the motorcycle, identified as 46-year-old Tony Ray Lindsey of Liberty, was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcycle’s passenger was transported to Prisma Health with severe injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck, 22-year-old Andrew McDowell, has been arrested and charged with felony DUI resulting in death, felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury, and possession of cocaine.
McDowell remains in custody at the Greenville County Detention Center. An autopsy for Lindsey is scheduled for Monday.
SCDOT reported all lanes on I-385 were blocked following the crash, which was cleared by 4:02 p.m. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
