ADAIR, Iowa (WOWT) – A motorcycle crash early Thursday morning resulted in the death of a 20-year-old man near Adair.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the incident occurred just before 1 a.m. on westbound Interstate 80 at Exit 75.
Authorities stated the motorcyclist, identified as Devon Ernst, was traveling at excessive speed and lost control on the off-ramp curve.
Ernst left the roadway, struck a culvert, and was ejected upon impact. Emergency crews pronounced him dead at the scene.
Authorities confirmed Ernst was not wearing a helmet or protective clothing at the time of the crash.
The Iowa State Patrol is continuing its investigation into the incident.
