BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – A man died in a motorcycle crash on Moneta Road on Friday, September 19, at 2:24 p.m.
Virginia State Police report the incident occurred one-tenth of a mile north of Stoney Fork Road. The rider, identified as 60-year-old Frank Earnest West of Huddleston, VA, lost control of his 2024 Indian Super Chief, veering off the right side of the road and colliding with a utility pole.
West was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Emergency services responded to the scene, but no additional injuries have been reported. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and officials have not indicated any lane closures on Moneta Road.
