Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident Near Spearfish on Saturday Evening
SPEARFISH, SD — A motorcycle accident on Saturday evening resulted in the death of a man near Spearfish, according to law enforcement officials.
The crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. on Highway 85, approximately three miles south of Spearfish. Authorities reported that one motorcycle was involved in the incident. The rider, whose identity has not yet been released, sustained fatal injuries at the scene.
Emergency responders from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and Spearfish Fire Department arrived shortly after the incident. Medical personnel pronounced the rider dead on-site. There were no other vehicles involved in the accident, and no additional injuries were reported.
Highway 85 was partially closed for several hours as investigators processed the scene and cleared the roadway. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident is ongoing.
