Park Hills Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash on Hwy. V
A 61-year-old man from Park Hills died Thursday afternoon, April 9, following a motorcycle collision on Hwy. V south of De Soto, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 3:09 p.m. when Larry Thomas Huber was riding his northbound 2008 Honda VTX1300 motorcycle. A 54-year-old woman from Imperial, driving a southbound 2023 Ford Bronco Sport, turned left from Hwy. V onto Mount Olive, entering Huber’s path, the Patrol reported.
Huber attempted to brake but skidded and struck the right side of the Bronco. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at 3:28 p.m. at the scene, and his body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office by Edwards Mortuary Service.
The Honda sustained extensive damage, while the Bronco suffered moderate damage. Both Huber and the Bronco driver were wearing safety equipment; Huber had a helmet on, and the Bronco driver was wearing a seat belt.
A remembrance service is scheduled for Saturday evening, April 11, at Immaculate Conception Church in Park Hills, where Huber served as parish priest.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
