HAWAII KAI, Hawaii (Local News Wire) — A 39-year-old man died after a motorcycle crash on Kalanianaole Highway Friday night.
The collision, involving two motorcycles, occurred around 10 p.m. on March 6, 2026, near Halona Beach Cove. According to authorities, the man was traveling westbound when he rear-ended a 23-year-old motorcyclist.
The impact caused the 39-year-old to lose control, strike a guardrail, and ultimately be ejected onto the roadway. Honolulu Emergency Medical Services provided treatment on-site and transported him to an emergency room, where he was pronounced dead.
The deceased was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. The 23-year-old motorcyclist remained at the scene and was unharmed.
Authorities stated that speed is not suspected as a factor, but the involvement of drugs or alcohol has not yet been determined. This incident marks Oahu’s 10th traffic fatality of the year, compared to 16 at the same time last year.
