Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of Williamsport Man in Virginia
A Williamsport man died Sunday, July 5, in a motorcycle accident on Interstate 81 in Frederick County, Virginia, according to Virginia State Police.
The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Curtis Cunningham Jr. Two state troopers observed two motorcycles speeding northbound on I-81 around 3:46 p.m. Sunday. Troopers attempted a stop; one motorcycle complied, while Cunningham continued to flee at a high rate of speed.
The pursuit lasted approximately two to three miles before Cunningham’s motorcycle collided with two pickup trucks. He was ejected from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency response agencies, including the Virginia State Police, are investigating the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
