MEDFORD MAN KILLED IN MOTORCYCLE CRASH ON COUNTY ROAD M
TOWN OF HAMMEL, Wis. — A 56-year-old Medford man died following a motorcycle crash on County Road M on Monday, October 2, at approximately 10 a.m.
According to the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, a welfare check was initiated after the man did not arrive for work. His last known location was determined to be east of Perkinstown based on cell phone data. Shortly thereafter, a passerby reported finding a motorcycle and an unresponsive man in the ditch near the 9600 block of County Road M.
Taylor County Deputies and EMS personnel responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they confirmed that the man, identified as Scott R. Williams, was deceased.
The preliminary investigation revealed Williams was traveling eastbound when his motorcycle left the roadway and entered the ditch, resulting in him being thrown from the vehicle. Authorities confirmed that Williams was not wearing a helmet during the incident, and there were no passengers on the motorcycle.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
