A motorcyclist died following a two-vehicle crash in Midland County on March 20.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Elton Wade McKenzie, 74, of Midland, was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital and subsequently transferred to University Medical Center in Lubbock. He succumbed to his injuries on March 23.
The crash occurred at 7:55 p.m. at the intersection of Business Interstate 20 and County Road 1150. DPS officials reported that a 2025 Ford F-250 was traveling southbound on County Road 1150 while a 1997 Kawasaki motorcycle was heading westbound on BI-20.
The driver of the Ford allegedly failed to yield at the stop sign and collided with the motorcycle. McKenzie was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, according to DPS.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no further details have been released.
