A Minnesota City man is in critical condition following a motorcycle collision with a deer near Wabasha on Sunday.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. on Highway 61, near milepost 58. David Deering, 66, was riding a BMW R1200 motorcycle southbound when the collision took place.
Deering was transported to a hospital in Wabasha with life-threatening injuries. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and officials do not suspect alcohol involvement.
The roadway was reported to be dry at the time of the incident. Emergency response included assistance from Wabasha Police Department, Wabasha Fire Department, Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office, and Wabasha Ambulance.
