COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) – A Missouri Valley man died in a multi-vehicle crash that closed part of Interstate 29 on Monday afternoon.
Fatal Crash on I-29
According to Council Bluffs Police, the incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. near 25th Street, closing northbound lanes.
The Iowa State Patrol reports a stationary 2020 Ram 1500 was struck by a semi. The driver of the pickup, identified as 60-year-old Donald Marks, died at the scene.
Injury Report from South Omaha Cutting
One person sustained serious injuries following a cutting incident in South Omaha on Monday evening.
Omaha police arrived at the scene near 33rd and J streets shortly after 8:30 p.m. The victim was transported to the hospital.
Motorcycle Crash on I-480
A crash involving a motorcycle and a car affected traffic on Interstate 480 in Omaha Monday evening.
Omaha Police reported the incident occurred on northbound I-480 just north of Martha Street, with one individual hospitalized in critical condition.
Traffic was diverted onto the Martha Street exit, and access to I-480 from the Martha on-ramp was blocked. The scene cleared shortly after 7 p.m.
Omaha Officer Injured by Drunk Driver
An Omaha police officer was injured on Saturday night when a driver rear-ended his cruiser on Interstate 80.
Officer Jason Stinson was stationary near 13th Street for a pothole when struck from behind. He suffered five broken ribs but is recovering.
The driver, a 25-year-old man, sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries and will face charges upon release.
