Motorcycle Crash Near Riverside Leaves One Seriously Injured
RIVERSIDE, IA – A motorcycle accident on the Highway 218 southbound on-ramp sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m.
According to the Washington Communications Center, the motorcyclist, identified as 51-year-old James Taylor of Fowler, Illinois, was found unconscious but breathing in a ditch west of the on-ramp. He was operating a 2025 Harley-Davidson trike at the time of the crash.
Emergency responders from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Riverside Fire Department provided medical aid on the scene. Taylor was subsequently transported to the University of Iowa Hospital.
Assisting agencies included Riverside QRS, Washington County Ambulance, Bulltown Towing, and the Iowa State Patrol. Authorities have not released details regarding the cause of the crash, which remains under investigation. Lane closures were in effect while emergency operations occurred.
