Motorcycle Crash Injures Operator in Boothbay Harbor

Boothbay Harbor, ME — A motorcycle crash on Townsend Avenue resulted in serious injuries to the operator on Wednesday, July 15, at approximately 7:08 p.m.

According to the Boothbay Harbor Police Department, Kyle Taylor, 43, was riding northbound on Townsend Avenue when he collided with the rear passenger side of a vehicle turning into the Irving gas station. Taylor sustained serious injuries and was initially transported to LincolnHealth’s Miles Campus before being airlifted by LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center for additional treatment.

Authorities said the investigation into the crash is ongoing. No injuries were reported for the vehicle’s occupants, Richard Stevenson, 84, and passenger Bonnie Stevenson, 85.

Though the crash initially caused lane disruptions, emergency medical personnel and Boothbay Harbor Fire Department assisted in managing the scene effectively.

In a related incident, authorities are investigating a second accident involving Hunter Taylor, 18, who was operating a Nissan Titan. The vehicle collided with a Ford Edge driven by Paul Mavris, 66, as Mavris attempted a turn at the Hammond Lumber entrance. No injuries were reported in this collision.
