One person is dead following a crash involving a semitruck and a motorcycle on Illinois Route 4 Tuesday morning.
MARINE, Ill. — The incident occurred at approximately 9:10 a.m. on Illinois Route 4, south of Interstate 70, in Madison County.
According to the Illinois State Police, one individual died at the scene, though authorities did not confirm whether the victim was the motorcyclist or the semitruck driver.
Emergency crews responded immediately, and both lanes were closed during the investigation and cleanup efforts. The highway has since reopened.
