Motorcycle Chase in Wood County Ends with Crash and Cocaine Arrest.

Motorcyclist Crashes During Chase, Found with Cocaine in Town of Hansen

TOWN OF HANSEN, Wis. — A 23-year-old motorcyclist crashed Tuesday afternoon after allegedly fleeing from the Wood County Sheriff’s deputies during a traffic stop.

Police attempted to pull over the motorcycle for speeding on Jackson Road at approximately 2:30 p.m. According to authorities, the operator accelerated and led deputies on a brief chase, ultimately losing control while navigating curves.

The motorcycle overturned at the intersection of Spruce Road and Tamarack Road. Deputies discovered 111.7 grams of a white powdery substance at the scene, which tested positive for cocaine.

The motorcyclist, identified as Wyatt Landphier, sustained minor injuries and was taken into custody. He faces charges for cocaine possession and felony fleeing from an officer.

Assistance was provided at the scene by the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department and the Wood County Central Dispatch Center. The investigation is ongoing.
