Motorcycle crash in Miller County sends one to the hospital.

A motorcycle crash on MO-Y in Miller County left one man critically injured on Monday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the incident occurred around 3:50 p.m. when a 2012 Kawasaki was traveling south on 158 MO-Y. Authorities said the driver, a 54-year-old man from Barnett, Mo., was attempting to avoid another vehicle when he overturned.

The rider sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. MSHP noted that the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident. Emergency personnel responded to the scene, and the roadway was briefly closed for investigation and cleanup. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
