Motorcycle crash near Cheyenne claims the life of a Wyoming resident.

CHEYENNE, WYOMING (July 3, 2020) — A motorcycle crash at the intersection of U.S. 85 and Hiawatha Road resulted in one fatality, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Steven Comstock, 32, of Wyoming, was riding a motorcycle that was struck by a Honda minivan while attempting to turn left onto U.S. 85. Authorities reported that Comstock was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, which may have contributed to the crash.

The accident occurred around 2:41 p.m. when the minivan, traveling southbound in the left lane, collided with the motorcycle that had entered the roadway from the stop sign at Hiawatha Road. Comstock and his passenger were ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the southbound lanes.

One additional person sustained injuries, while two others involved in the incident were uninjured.

This incident marks the 46th fatality on Wyoming highways in 2020.

The investigation is ongoing, and traffic on U.S. 85 was impacted following the crash.
