LEETON, MO — A 43-year-old Leeton man was injured Thursday morning after swerving to avoid an animal on Route 2, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:20 a.m. when the motorcyclist lost control while traveling westbound. The motorcycle crossed the center line, went off the right side of the roadway, and overturned, ejecting the driver.
Emergency responders transported the man to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries. Authorities noted that he was not wearing appropriate safety gear at the time of the accident.
