Motorcycle crash near Lincoln claims a life.

LINCOLN — A motorcycle versus car crash on Highway 200 near Morris Drive resulted in one fatality on July 15 at 4:53 p.m.

According to the Lewis and Clark County Coroner’s Office, a 70-year-old male was found deceased at the scene. The coroner identified him as Alan Dean Kies of Tacoma, Washington. The cause of death was ruled blunt force injuries following a motor vehicle accident.

Preliminary reports indicate the motorcycle was traveling eastbound when a pickup truck, traveling westbound, turned south in front of it. The Montana Highway Patrol is conducting the investigation.

Witnesses reported that the motorcycle rider was not wearing a helmet. An autopsy is scheduled to assess toxicology, which is standard for fatal crashes. The deputy coroner declared death at 6:25 p.m.

Sheriff Coroner Leo Dutton confirmed that next of kin have been notified.
