An 86-year-old motorcyclist, David Irvine, died in a crash on State Route 20 in Pend Oreille County on May 23, 2026.
The incident occurred at 2:49 p.m. at milepost 405, approximately 13 miles north of Cusick. Authorities said the motorcycle collided with the southbound ditch, leaving the roadway partially blocked.
Fire crews managed traffic flow while emergency responders arrived at the scene. According to Washington State Patrol (WSP), drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash. The investigation into the cause is ongoing.
