Fatal Motorcycle Crash on U.S. 27 in Miramar Claims Two Lives
Two individuals died early Saturday in a motorcycle crash involving a tractor-trailer on U.S. 27 in Miramar, authorities said.
The collision occurred at approximately 1:38 a.m. at mile marker 21, when the motorcycle, carrying driver William Edgar Hernandez, 43, and passenger Glenis Burgos, 58, failed to stop as traffic slowed, police reported. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
As a result of the investigation, U.S. 27 was closed at Pines Boulevard at 5:50 a.m. Traffic was diverted, and motorists were advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. The roadway reopened around 10:23 a.m.
The Traffic Homicide Unit is continuing its investigation, and no additional information has been released as of July 20.
