SALISBURY — A motorcycle accident on Statesville Boulevard claimed the life of a 35-year-old Salisbury man on Sunday afternoon.

Dwayne Muhamed Mutevelic died at the scene, according to authorities. The collision involved one motorcycle and is under investigation by the Traffic Safety Unit.

Emergency responders from the Salisbury Fire Department were on the scene shortly after the incident was reported. No other injuries were reported, and the roadway was closed for several hours while the investigation was conducted.

Following Mutevelic’s death, tributes have surfaced on social media. The J.F. Hurley YMCA stated, “It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our former coworker, Muhamed Mutevelic.” The Forum of Salisbury also acknowledged his contributions, noting, “Muhamed was a valued member of our community and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.”

Forum owner Matthew Marsh described Mutevelic as supportive and encouraging, stating, “He did not know a stranger.” His presence was noted by many, further marking the impact he had on his peers.
