Motorcycle-Tractor Trailer Collision Claims Life of 70-Year-Old in Madison County
A motorcycle accident involving a semi tractor-trailer in Madison County on June 9 resulted in the death of a 70-year-old man.
John Crute of Overland, Kansas, was riding a blue BMW motorcycle when the incident occurred around 9:10 a.m., according to Illinois State Police. Crute reportedly crossed the centerline on Illinois Route 4, colliding with a red Kenmore semi-truck near Marine.
Emergency responders transported Crute to a St. Louis hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities indicated that both lanes of Illinois Route 4 were closed temporarily while they cleared the wreckage and conducted an investigation.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to officials.
