JOHNSON COUNTY, Iowa — A motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries in a collision with a pickup truck at 2:56 p.m. on Thursday.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Highway 22 and Wapsi Avenue. According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 59-year-old William Lewis of Blair, Nebraska, struck a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was northbound through the intersection.
The motorcyclist, whose name is being withheld pending family notification, was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Holiday Wrecker. Authorities said the crash is still under investigation.
