A motorcycle crash on Davison Freeway in Detroit early Sunday morning resulted in the death of a 58-year-old man.
The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. near Woodrow Wilson Street, according to Michigan State Police. The victim, a Redford resident, was traveling northbound on Woodrow Wilson when he made an unauthorized U-turn onto the freeway, where he was struck by an SUV driven by a Detroit resident.
The man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Authorities indicated that drug impairment may be a contributing factor in the crash.
An ongoing investigation is being conducted by Michigan State Police.
