LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A motorcycle accident on North Indiana Avenue at East Prospect Street resulted in serious injuries Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 5 p.m. when a 67-year-old man reportedly lost control of his motorcycle after the chain broke. He was the only individual involved in the accident, which took place in front of the former Morton-Wilson Hardware building.
First responders, including LaFollette Fire, Police, and Campbell EMS, quickly arrived on the scene, temporarily shutting down North Indiana Avenue and East Prospect Street to divert traffic. The victim received immediate medical attention before being transported to LaFollette Medical Center.
At approximately 5:40 p.m., the man was flown to a Knoxville hospital from LMC’s helicopter pad for further treatment. Authorities confirmed no other vehicles were involved in the incident. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
