New York State Police at Sidney responded to the scene where they found a heavily damaged motorcycle. The operator was initially missing.
During the investigation, officers confirmed the motorcycle was reported stolen in 2025 and identified the operator as Jaime S. Schreiber, 33, of Otego. Schreiber was later located at a residence on State Highway 7 and taken into custody.
He has been charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd degree, both misdemeanors. Schreiber was processed and issued appearance tickets for the Otego Town Court, set for August 20, 2026.
