A 61-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a semi-truck in West Oakland on Saturday night, May 16, 2026.
According to authorities, the crash occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. at the intersection of Burma Road and Maritime Street, near the Port of Oakland. The motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Maritime Street when he collided with a semi-truck making a northbound turn onto the same street.
Witnesses reported that the motorcyclist struck the trailer and became pinned underneath. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of his relatives. The driver of the semi-truck was unharmed.
