Lisbon Falls Motorcycle Collision Leaves Man Seriously Injured

LISBON FALLS, Maine — A 21-year-old man from Lisbon sustained serious injuries in a head-on motorcycle crash on Route 196 on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 3:17 p.m. near the intersection with School Street, according to the Lisbon Police Department. The motorcyclist was operating a 2025 Kawasaki Ninja eastbound when he lost control, crossing into the westbound lane and colliding with a 2016 Hyundai Sonata driven by a 37-year-old man from Winthrop.

Authorities reported that the motorcyclist was first taken to Central Maine Medical Center with critical injuries, then airlifted by LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center in Portland. The driver of the Hyundai did not sustain injuries.

Witnesses at the scene rendered assistance to the injured motorcyclist, authorities said.

Accident reconstruction specialists from the Lewiston Police Department and the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office are investigating. The Lisbon Fire Department and Lisbon Public Works also responded to the crash scene.

No lane closures are reported at this time as the investigation continues.
