Motorcyclist Dies After Collision with Truck in North Phoenix
PHOENIX — A motorcyclist died following a collision with a truck on Saturday, September 30, 2023, around 3 p.m. near 7th Street and Union Hills Drive, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The rider, identified as 39-year-old Norman Absher, was transported to the hospital by the Phoenix Fire Department, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and exhibited no signs of impairment. Authorities reported that the driver, who suffered serious injuries, required extrication from the vehicle and was subsequently hospitalized.
Initial investigations revealed that the truck’s driver made a left turn in front of the motorcycle, resulting in the crash. Police indicated that “speed involving the motorcycle” may have also contributed to the incident. An active investigation is underway.
