HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A motorcycle crash following a police chase resulted in one death early Sunday morning.
According to the Horry County Sheriff’s Office, at 2:10 a.m., deputies were called to a fatal incident on Highway 548 at Reevis Way in the Conway area.
A South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper had attempted a traffic stop on a motorcyclist speeding on Highway 501 North. The motorcyclist failed to stop, leading to a pursuit towards downtown Conway.
Authorities said the driver then turned onto Highway 548 and crashed into a ditch, resulting in their death.
This incident remains under investigation, with no additional details available at this time.
