PHOENIX (Local News Wire) — A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with an SUV on Saturday evening in Phoenix.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of a crash at the intersection of 31st and Northern Avenues. Upon arrival, they found 39-year-old Rigoberto Bencomo had been struck while riding his motorcycle.
The Phoenix Fire Department transported Bencomo to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Initial investigations indicate that the SUV driver made a left turn in front of Bencomo, leading to the crash. Authorities stated that impairment does not appear to be a factor.
The current status of the SUV driver’s potential arrest or facing charges is unclear.
