NOKESVILLE, VA — A motorcyclist was killed and two others injured in a crash on Monday evening at approximately 5:15 p.m.
According to Prince William County Police, the accident occurred when an 18-year-old driver of a 2012 Mazda 5 made a left turn from southbound Parkgate Drive onto eastbound Aden Road, entering the path of a 2015 Honda CRF250L motorcycle. The motorcycle crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 2020 Jeep Wrangler traveling west on Aden Road, Lt. Jonathan Perok reported.
The motorcyclist, identified as 28-year-old Austin Matthew Dungan of Bealeton, was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Jeep’s driver, a 43-year-old Nokesville woman, and her 15-year-old passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to the hospital.
Both the driver and passenger in the Mazda were uninjured and remained at the scene. Police charged Altman with reckless driving and failure to yield the right of way; he was released on a summons.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the crash to contact local law enforcement. This incident marks the third deadly crash involving Fauquier residents in three days.
