SOUTH TOMS RIVER, NJ — A 25-year-old man died Monday evening following a motorcycle crash involving two other vehicles on Route 166, authorities reported.
Kenneth Gerisch was found unconscious at the scene near Mathis Plaza around 5:40 p.m. The South Toms River First Aid Squad and Robert Wood Johnson paramedics provided emergency care, but Gerisch was pronounced dead after being transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River.
The preliminary investigation indicates Gerisch was riding southbound on Herflicker Boulevard when he reportedly lost control as he approached the merge onto southbound Atlantic City Boulevard (Route 166). His motorcycle tipped over, veering into the northbound lanes and colliding with two vehicles.
Gerisch was found on the shoulder of Route 166. The crash is under investigation by Patrolman Dominick Palino. Witnesses are encouraged to contact the South Toms River Police Department at 732-349-0313, x126.
