HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – A fatal motorcycle accident occurred Sunday afternoon in Adams County, claiming the life of a Hastings man.
According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Department, the incident took place at 3:44 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 6 and Marian Road.
A Jeep Cherokee driven by 58-year-old Brenda Willnerd was traveling east on U.S. Highway 6 when it collided with a motorcycle operated by 58-year-old William Humburg, who was heading west.
Authorities stated that preliminary investigation suggests the Jeep was turning north onto Marian Road at the time of the accident.
Humburg was transported to Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital by Hastings Fire & Rescue, where he was later pronounced dead.
Both drivers were reportedly wearing seatbelts and helmets, and investigators do not suspect alcohol or speed as contributing factors.
The Nebraska State Patrol is handling the accident reconstruction. Hastings Fire & Rescue and Hastings Rural Fire also responded to the scene.
No arrests or citations have been made as the investigation continues, authorities confirmed.
