SHESHEQUIN TWP., BRADFORD CO. (WOLF) — A 20-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a tractor-trailer Friday evening in Bradford County.
The incident occurred at 6:31 p.m. on August 28, on Sheshequin Road, south of Goose Hollow Road.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, 52-year-old Matthew J. Shellenhamer of Lititz was operating a Kenworth tractor-trailer northbound when he made a left turn, colliding with a southbound Kawasaki motorcycle ridden by Levent K. Van Helden of Towanda.
The tractor-trailer subsequently traveled a short distance before stopping on a dirt road off Sheshequin Road. The motorcycle came to a stop in the southbound lane.
Van Helden was pronounced dead at the scene; authorities confirmed he was wearing a motorcycle helmet. Shellenhamer reported no injuries.
The crash is under investigation by Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda.
